Angklung For The World

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I hope you are in the great condition. Ahem. Guys, I’m shaking of excitement right now while typing this!  Can you guess why? If your answer is because i’m the part of the world record “Angklung harmony for the world” then you deserve a virtual high five from me! Yes! I still can’t believe that I was the part of that amazing-legendary-touching event! If you think that i’m overacting. I agree with you. Totally a hundred percent agree with you. *Just so you know that i’m rolling my eyes at this very moment” Really. Please just read my story so maybe you will understand how i could be like this.

April 23rd 2015, me and my friends wait in line for about 2 hours to get a t-shirt, snacks and of course an angklung, the key of this great event. I got an Angklung named Bali or F tone. We just sitting while waiting for everything necessary to be ready. When everything’s ready. We practiced by playing Halo-halo Bandung, Manuk Dadali, Satu Nusa Satu Bangsa and We Are the World. Because you know Practice makes perfect *wink*. After that, the crew told us to take a break. Saung Angklung Udjo performing while we had our break. Me and my friends enjoy the break under umbrellas, because the sun are too hot for us. Like please sun show us some mercy.

We gather for a good reason i swear, in case you’re wondering when you saw us from above. When the break is over. The crew of Angklung Harmony for the World (or Burma) told us to make a line so they can count each of us the participant. After they finished counting, we play WE Are the World to break World Record and Muri. That was the most beautiful moment of my life. Like when you hear all the “kring” sound from 20.000 angklungs. Let’s take a moment of silence. I won’t trade it for anything in this world. After all wrapped up, Muri gave us some kind of certificate for breaking the record of the most Angklung player in a place together. The goals of this event. But we have to wait for breaking world record. Because the crew of Guinness World Book of Record have to make sure that every aspect was “checked” from the specification list.
